An Interview with Dr. Michele Yatchmeneff

This interview ends with the highest praise I can or ever will receive, and it brought me to tears in the best way. I am so honored Dr. Michele Yatchmeneff agreed to narrate a pivotal scene at the end of DANGEROUS GROUND. As is clear from this interview, Dr. Yatchmeneff is an amazing woman. We need more women like her in STEM and I have made a donation to the organization that helped her achieve her dreams: the Alaska Native Science & Engineering Program (ANSEP) and encourage you to give too. https://engage.alaska.edu/uaa/ansep

Please listen to this interview and cry with me. I want to thank Montlake and Amazon Publishing for supporting me with publishing this book, and thank Brilliance Publishing for working to cast a woman from the Unangax? community to narrate the role of Marion in DANGEROUS GROUND. I really have no words for what Dr. Yatchmeneff’s comments mean to me, just happy tears.

Fiona and Dean are back in CRASH SITE

Nine months after DANGEROUS GROUND (Fiona Carver #1), Fiona Carver has landed her dream assignment on Ruby Island–and has just learned that wildlife photographer Dean Slater is joining the team. But danger follows this couple around, and his arrival on the island is anything but smooth.

“Rachel Grant does it again! Engaging characters, gripping suspense, and steamy romance. CRASH SITE starts with a bang and delivers non-stop action.”

— New York Times bestselling author Laura Griffin

For archaeologist Fiona Carver, the Caribbean glistens with untold menace in a heart-racing novel by Rachel Grant, USA Today bestselling author of Dangerous Ground.

Fiona Carver has landed a dream assignment: conducting an archaeological inventory of Ruby Island, a privately owned, pristine gem in the Caribbean. Two months in paradise exploring and mapping a lush rain forest, vast caves, and a seventeenth-century star fort and following up on legends of hidden Spanish gold. Add a simmering reunion with wildlife photographer Dean Slater and it’s enough to take Fiona’s breath away. But the sparkle fades when Dean’s arrival is met with sudden, terrifying danger.

Reunited and determined to see the project through, Fiona and Dean find themselves in a swirl of intrigue as they delve into the complex history of the unspoiled refuge, now a tropical haven for billionaires and their secrets. But the work isn’t easy, as someone appears determined to kill the project—by any means necessary.

As betrayal casts tropical storm clouds over Ruby Island and treasured friendships dissolve into distrust, one thing becomes clear: Fiona and Dean are trapped in a dangerous paradise.

I hope you enjoy Fiona and Dean’s steamy Caribbean adventure! If you love it, please tell your friends and consider posting a review online. Drop me a note and let me know if I made you laugh out loud or cry (I cried more than a little in writing this one).

Listen to CRASH SITE on Audible

Like DANGEROUS GROUND, CRASH SITE has 3 narrators: Eva Kaminsky, A.T. Chandler, and Nicola Lambo. Romance audiobook fans will likely be familiar with Eva Kaminsky and A.T. Chandler (although they might be more familiar with A.T.’s work as Aiden Snow), but triple threat actress Nicola Lambo (with a long list of amazing credits!) is newer to audiobook narration, and I am deeply honored she agreed to read two scenes written from the point of view of Sadie, a Jamaican archaeologist who plays a key role in CRASH SITE.

There aren’t enough words to convey how thrilled I am that Brilliance Audio once again made sure to cast a woman with the same ethnicity and nationality as the character she is narrating. Click on the link or image below to watch a video (make sure your sound is on) and enjoy a sample from one of Sadie’s scenes.
