Now, given that we share the same last name, this could be cause for confusion (and in fact, Barnes & Noble put her name in my book’s URL, which is why I didn’t share the Nook link for several days). Salish Sea Conference

This past week, the Salish Sea Ecosystem Conference celebrated its 30th anniversary and hosted a conference that’s the largest and “most comprehensive event of its kind in the region. The purpose of the conference is to assemble scientists, First Nations and tribal government representatives, resource managers, community and business leaders, policy makers, educators, and students to present the latest scientific research on the state of the ecosystem, and to guide future actions for protecting and restoring the Salish Sea ecosystem.” (from https://wp.wwu.edu/salishseaconference/)

Seeing #SalishSea trending on Twitter warms my heart. I loved writing about the Salish Sea in COLD EVIDENCE and my marine biologist hero and heroine would be eager for this conference.

The Squamish Tribe opened the conference, which was attended by 1300 people from the US and Canada.

A Special Reader’s Email

Yesterday I received an email from a reader that means so much to me. I love all of it, but the second paragraph is really special.

I write romantic thrillers. I LOVE writing romance and adventure. I want to entertain. I want to engage emotions. I want to give readers an escape and to fall in love. But I also want to shine a light on world issues, because change only happens when people can see the problem.

My books won’t change the world or lives (well, except for my kids, who will get to go to college). But they can be a starting point, and I thank this reader for letting me know the message in CATALYST was heard.
